Abstract
Introduction. Probiotic supplementation of preterm infants may prevent serious morbidities associated with prematurity. Aim. To investigate the impact of probiotic supplementation on the gut microbiota and determine factors associated with detection of probiotic species in the infant gut. Hypothesis/Gap Statement.
